October 2011
Hello! September started off very grand for me. I had a wonderful time at a friend’s wedding in central London. It was great to see that the lovely Ruari from Pinstripes and Peonies did the flowers – and gorgeous they were too. Greg, our wonderful photographer, was also there to capture the happy couple’s special day.
I also went home, back to Stratford upon Avon, for a weekend of celebrations. It was my mum’s retirement get together along with my older sister’s engagement party. Great opportunity for a glass of fizz with family and friends.
September has just been nonstop. So many venue meetings, which is great, as it’s so lovely to catch up with everyone and to see what’s happening. It was also the bi-monthly UVL meeting this month which included presentations from potential new members. Can’t wait to see who we’ll be welcoming on board for 2012.
I was lucky to host a box at Tottenham Hotspur again on Sunday 18th September. It was a great day out, and me being a Tottenham fan, loved the final 4-0 scoreline! It’s a shame my colleague, who was also there hosting, is a Liverpool fan. Oops, never mind!
It was really lovely attending the Event Awards at the Roundhouse on the 20th September. As mentioned in my last blog, I was delighted that Seasoned Events were shortlisted for Caterer of the Year 2011. We didn’t come away with the trophy but we were so pleased to be acknowledged as one of the top five caterers in the industry. However, we didn’t come away empty handed as I am thrilled that Tower Bridge won small venue of the year. Such a great achievement.
Towards the end of September saw the Square Meal Venue & Events Exhibition at Old Billingsgate. Venue Reservations did us proud with a stunning stand – so vibrant with the pink and black branding. It was good to meet some quality event buyers and we took an excellent number of direct enquiries as well as a host of great leads. The event was really buzzing and everybody seemed to thoroughly enjoy the exhibition.
I literally headed off across London Bridge after Square Meal to Gatwick Airport as I went on a much needed holiday to Majorca. It was quite unnerving leaving my husband to pack the suitcases but he did a good job and most importantly remembered my hair straighteners!
We had such a relaxing break and I took full advantage of the sun, sea and sangria!
Anyway, definitely back in the swing of things now!
Keep well and I’ll catch up with you soon.
