As part of our on-going commitment to our ISO 14001 environmental management accreditation the Seasoned Events team undertakes three “green initiatives” every year.
In 2012 Seasoned Events catered for over 65,000 guests and in turn consumed a great deal of energy and waste. Consequently we worked more ecologically and ethically in order to reduce the impact of our business on clients, staff, our community and the environment.
Our initiatives last year were to reduce the carbon footprint of our team with the Pedometer Challenge where staff walked to meetings and site visits where possible instead of using public transport; by producing electronic contract tenders instead of using reams and reams of paper; by recycling our waste; and planting a tree for every 1,000 guests that we serve.
The results were fantastic; the team walked over 150 miles, recycled over 85 tonnes; submitted 56% of its tenders electronically; and we are planting 65 fruit trees in the local community.
